Brief History
A businessman and an entrepreneur in the field of furniture and construction Mr. Abdul Majeed had a great sense and desire for building works. In 1948, he along with his wife and eldest son came to Pakistan. By that time, Pakistan had scarcity of skilled manpower especially large manufacturing facilities. Being an Entrepreneur in the furniture industry, he stepped into furniture manufacturing with a large manufacturing facility employing more than 400 people in 1950 working round the clock. In a short span of time, he made a mark in terms of quality and timely delivery of projects. He later started M/s Abdul Majeed & Company from humble beginnings. The firm initially worked as a sub-contractor for many prestigious projects with joint ventures. After having a thorough knowledge, a core team and necessary equipment, AMC grew and started bidding as a general contractor and, by the grace of Almighty Allah, over a period of just five years made a mark in construction industry of Pakistan based on stringent quality controls and delivering on tight deadlines. The New Sind Secretariat Building, Income Tax Building, Renovation of Sind Assembly Building, 672 Flats at Police Lines etc are just some of the projects of national importance awarded to AMC in the period from 1960-1990 based on performance, quality and timely delivery.

After nearly a span of more than 5 decades, AMC still continues to expand all over Pakistan following the principles laid by its founder. AMC is now a well preferred contractor for prestigious building projects, roads, bridges, infrastructure and specialized projects. We hope and pray to Almighty Allah that our efforts may reap good benefits and betterment for the construction industry of Pakistan.
